• Safety is unknown for high-dose lysine and has not been scientifically established for lemon balm in pregnancy and lactation.
• Theoretically, concurrent use of lemon balm with other herbs and supplements with hypoglycaemic potential may affect glucose control.
• Theoretically, concomitant use of lemon balm with drugs with sedative properties may cause additive effects and side effects.
• Theoretically, lemon balm may alter thyroid function, reduce thyroid hormone levels, and interfere with thyroid hormone-replacement therapy.
• Theoretically, echinacea might increase levels of drugs metabolised by CYP1A2.
• Theoretically, echinacea may interfere with immunosuppressant therapy because of its immuno-stimulating activity.
• Preliminary clinical research suggests that taking echinacea may increase the clearance of warfarin, but has no effect on platelet aggregation.
• If symptoms persist, talk to your health professional.
