Description MCT Oil is a liquid containing a mixture of medium chain triglycerides.

This product has been known to be prescribed by doctors for children with weight issues or epileptic fits. It is also used as a source of quick energy by althletes and body builders.

Indications
MCT Oil is an energy source and is indicated in the dietary management of intractable epilepsy using the ketogenic diet or for fat malabsorption such as cystic fibrosis or chronic liver disease. MCT Oil is not a source of essential fatty acids or fat soluble vitamins.

Preparation and administration
MCT Oil can be mixed with liquids or used as part of a modular feed. MCT Oil should be introduced slowly into the diet as rapid absorption of large intakes may cause vomiting or diarrhoea.

Storage
Store in closed containers, protected from light at 5-20ºC. Shake well before use. Once opened, replace the container lid and store in a refrigerator for up to 28 days. Discard unfinished servings if not consumed within 24 hours after being taken from the refrigerator.
