ApoHealth Cetirizine Hayfever Allergy 10mg 70 Tablets (S2)

ApoHealth Cetirizine 10mg provides convenient, once-daily relief from the symptoms of hayfever and other allergies. Each tablet contains the second-generation antihistamine cetirizine hydrochloride to help block the action of histamine, easing sneezing, runny or itchy nose, itchy/watery eyes and itching associated with hives (urticaria). Effects generally last up to 24 hours, making it suitable for daytime or nighttime use.

This value pack includes 70 film-coated tablets and is classified as Pharmacy Medicine (S2) in Australia. Cetirizine is classed as a “non-drowsy” antihistamine for most people, however some may still experience drowsiness—use with care until you know how it affects you.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: How do I take it?
A: Adults and children 12 years and over: typically 1 tablet (10 mg) once daily. Children 6–11 years: follow pharmacist/label directions (some may require a lower total daily dose). Swallow with water, with or without food. Always follow the label or your healthcare professional’s advice.

Q: When should I take it—morning or night?
A: Either is acceptable. If you feel drowsy, take it in the evening. If it keeps symptoms controlled through the day without drowsiness, morning use is fine.

Q: How quickly does it work and how long does it last?
A: Onset is usually within 1 hour, with effects lasting up to 24 hours per dose.

Q: Can I take it with other allergy products (e.g., nasal sprays or eye drops)?
A: Often yes—many people use intranasal corticosteroid sprays or lubricating/antihistamine eye drops alongside an oral antihistamine. Ask your pharmacist to ensure products are appropriate for you.

Q: Will it make me drowsy?
A: Cetirizine is “non-drowsy” for most, but some may still experience sleepiness or reduced alertness. Avoid alcohol and evaluate your response before driving.

Q: Can I use it long term?
A: Many people use cetirizine throughout an allergy season or for perennial allergies. If symptoms persist for more than a few days without improvement, or you need it most days year-round, seek medical advice.

Q: What if I have kidney problems?
A: Dose adjustments may be required. Consult your doctor or pharmacist before use.

Q: Any interactions I should know about?
A: Alcohol and sedating medicines (e.g., some sleep aids, anxiolytics) can increase drowsiness. Always check with your healthcare professional if taking other medications.

Q: Storage and handling?
A: Store below the temperature specified on pack, in a dry place, away from direct heat. Keep out of reach of children.

Q: When should I see a doctor?
A: If you develop breathing difficulties, facial swelling, or severe rash; if symptoms worsen or persist; or if you experience troublesome side effects.
