Dentafix 8g Repair Filling

Dentafix Repair Filling is a temporary, at-home dental repair material designed to fill lost fillings and cover chipped tooth cavities until you can see a dentist. The malleable paste is easy to place, sets with saliva, and forms a protective barrier that helps shield sensitive dentine, reduce food trapping, and support more comfortable eating and drinking. The compact 8g is ideal for your bathroom cabinet or travel kit so you’re prepared for unexpected dental mishaps.

Active Ingredients / Composition

Refer to your carton for the exact formulation and allergens.

  • Temporary dental repair base (moisture-setting, tooth-safe compound) designed to harden in the mouth and adhere mechanically to the cavity walls.

  • May include soothing agents and fillers commonly used in temporary cements.

  • Eugenol/essential oils may be present in some batches; check the label if you are sensitive.

Reasons to Use

  • Lost or broken fillings that expose a cavity and cause sensitivity.

  • Chipped tooth edges or small cavities that trap food.

  • Short-term cover when you can’t get immediate dental care (weekends, travel).

  • To reduce irritation from hot/cold foods and limit debris entering the cavity.

Reasons Not to Use

  • Severe toothache, throbbing pain, swelling, fever, or signs of infection—seek urgent dental care.

  • Broken teeth with sharp fragments, suspected nerve exposure, or bleeding that won’t stop.

  • To cement crowns/bridges/dentures—not the intended use.

  • Known allergy to any ingredients (including clove/eugenol if present).

  • Children without close adult supervision.

Advantages

  • Quick, do-it-yourself placement—no mixing tray required.

  • Moisture-activated set for convenient use at home or on the go.

  • Helps protect the cavity from food and temperature extremes until your appointment.

  • 8g provides multiple applications.

Disadvantages

  • Temporary only—not a substitute for professional treatment.

  • May dislodge with chewing, especially on sticky/hard foods.

  • Not suitable for large fractures, deep cavities, or restorations that require bonding.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: How do I apply Dentafix Repair Filling?
A: Wash hands and gently rinse your mouth. Dry the tooth with cotton or tissue if possible. Using the supplied tool or a clean applicator, place a small amount into the cavity and press firmly. Close teeth gently together to shape and seat the material. Wipe away excess and avoid chewing on that side until set (usually 15–30 minutes).

Q: How long will it last?
A: It’s designed as a short-term fix—often from hours to a few days depending on placement and chewing habits. Arrange a dental appointment as soon as possible.

Q: Can I eat and drink after use?
A: Allow the material to set fully before eating. Avoid very hot drinks, sticky sweets, and hard biting on the repaired side to prolong retention.

Q: Is it safe if I swallow a small amount?
A: Small inadvertent amounts are generally not expected to be harmful, but avoid swallowing. If a large amount is swallowed or you feel unwell, seek medical advice.

Q: Will it stop pain?
A: It can reduce sensitivity by covering exposed dentine, but it won’t treat infection or deep decay. Persistent or worsening pain means you need urgent dental care.

Q: Can I use it to re-cement a crown?
A: No. This product is a temporary cavity filler, not a crown cement. See your dentist for safe re-cementation.

Q: Can I brush my teeth as normal?
A: Yes—use a soft brush around the area. Be gentle directly over the repair to avoid dislodging it.

Q: Any allergy considerations?
A: Check the label for eugenol/clove oil or other potential allergens. Do not use if you are sensitive to any component.

Q: Storage?
A: Keep the cap tightly closed to prevent drying. Store below the temperature stated on pack, in a cool, dry place, away from children.

Does the Job

I had a chipped tooth " lower front " from the inner side and it was filled by a composite but after 6 months it fell " done by a pro dentist " . I got that product to fill the small chip as it injures my tongue tip.. worked very good.. maybe not successful from the first trial but you will get good at it... sticks well, will stand for a whole day till you brush your teeth before sleeping but you can always restore it till you meet the dentist. the only thing that i didn't like was the tool, i used a tooth pick instead. Not a long term remedy at all... and stick to the instructions. Apply and dont press to much..use your fingers as well gently to press it. Pass your saliva on it to harden and leave it for 15 to 20 mins to harden. P.S : if you are going to stay more than two weeks..buy 2 tubes.
