With a high content of lemon-scented citral, May Chang has similar applications to Lemongrass. 

• The herb has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for indigestion & nausea, low back pain and in general as a ‘heat clearing’ herb – anti-inflammatory in nature. 
• Properly diluted, it is considered a useful astringent essence in skin care, for oily skin & hair and excessive perspiration.
