About the active
Lidocaine 5 mg + Phenylephrine 0.5 mg per dose (Spray)
This spray combines lidocaine, an amide-type local anaesthetic, with phenylephrine, a selective alpha-1 adrenergic agonist that produces local vasoconstriction. The two ingredients work together: lidocaine numbs the mucous membrane, while phenylephrine shrinks the surrounding mucosa to improve visibility and reduce bleeding during procedures.
Each metered actuation delivers 5 mg of lidocaine hydrochloride monohydrate and 0.5 mg of phenylephrine hydrochloride.
Indicated as a topical anaesthetic and decongestant for the mucous membranes of the nose, mouth, pharynx and larynx, for use by healthcare professionals during nasendoscopy, laryngoscopy and minor ENT procedures.
Safety: Schedule 2 (Pharmacy Only). For use by, or under the direction of, a registered healthcare practitioner only. Do not exceed the maximum dose per session stated in the Product Information. Caution in people with cardiovascular disease, uncontrolled hypertension or hyperthyroidism (phenylephrine is a vasoconstrictor). Stop use and seek advice if any allergic-type reaction occurs.
