Pharmacist usage tip

Tilt your head back, look up, gently pull down the lower lid, and squeeze one drop into the resulting pocket. Blink to spread the drop evenly. Use up to three times daily, or more frequently if you have severe dryness — Hylo-Forte is safe for repeated use. Discard 6 months after first opening (mark the date on the bottle).

About the active

Sodium Hyaluronate 2 mg/mL (0.2%)

Sodium hyaluronate is the sodium salt of hyaluronic acid, a high-molecular-weight glycosaminoglycan that is a natural component of the tear film. When applied to the eye surface, it forms a viscoelastic gel that binds water molecules and adheres to the corneal and conjunctival surface, providing long-lasting lubrication and protecting the surface from desiccation.

Hylo-Forte supplies sodium hyaluronate at 2 mg per mL (0.2%) — a higher concentration than standard Hylo, designed for intensive lubrication of severely dry, irritated and tired eyes. The COMOD multi-dose delivery system uses an airless pump and silver-coated outlet, so the drops are preservative-free and remain sterile for the in-use period stated on the carton.

Indicated for the intensive lubrication of severely dry, irritated and tired eyes from external factors — for example, prolonged screen use, wind, sun, dust, or air-conditioning. Suitable for use with all contact lenses, including soft and rigid gas-permeable.

Safety: discontinue use and seek advice if irritation persists or if symptoms worsen. Do not touch the dropper tip to the eye or any other surface, to maintain sterility. Replace the cap firmly between uses.

Intended purpose

Preservative-free lubricating eye drops for the intensive lubrication of severely dry, irritated and tired eyes from external factors (e.g. prolonged screen use, wind, sun, dust, air-conditioning). Delivered through the COMOD multi-dose preservative-free delivery system.

Directions for use

Adults and children: instil one drop into the affected eye(s) up to three times daily, or more frequently if required. Tilt the head back, look up, gently pull down the lower eyelid, and apply one drop into the resulting pocket. Blink to spread the drop evenly.

Warnings and important information

• For ophthalmic use only — do not swallow.
• Do not touch the dropper tip to the eye, eyelid or any other surface, to maintain sterility.
• Discontinue use and see your optometrist or doctor if irritation persists or vision changes occur.
