About this product
Pharmacy Choice Loratadine 100 Tablets (S2) is a Schedule 2 non-sedating antihistamine used for the relief of seasonal allergic rhinitis (hayfever) and chronic urticaria in adults and adolescents 12 years and over. Supplied in Australia by Symbion Pty Ltd. Use it in accordance with the carton instructions and your healthcare professional's advice.
About the active
Loratadine 10 mg
Loratadine is a long-acting second-generation H1-receptor antagonist. By selectively blocking peripheral histamine H1 receptors it reduces the sneezing, runny nose, itchy eyes and itchy skin that occur during an allergic response, while having minimal effect on the central nervous system H1 receptors that mediate drowsiness — so it is classed as non-sedating.
Indicated for the symptomatic relief of seasonal allergic rhinitis (hayfever) and chronic idiopathic urticaria in adults and children 12 years and over.
Onset of effect is typically within 1 to 3 hours and lasts approximately 24 hours, supporting once-daily dosing.
Safety: Schedule 2 (Pharmacy Only). Discuss with a pharmacist if you have severe liver impairment, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or take other antihistamines. Loratadine is generally well tolerated; possible side effects include headache, dry mouth and fatigue. Stop use and seek advice if you experience any sign of an allergic reaction.
